Sandy Jacobson is the
Environmental Education/Administrative Assistant for
the District. She
can assist you with general District questions, or put you in touch with
one of the planners, or other District employees.
Sandy
can help you with your
questions on native trees and shrubs, and other interesting topics such
as:
- Native
plants for Butterfly gardens
- Landscaping
septic fields with native plants
- Planting
and salvaging native plants
In January, the District conducts an annual native
tree and shrub sale. To kick
off the tree sale, a native plant workshop is presented.
Participants view a slide show and have an opportunity to ask
questions as they learn about the various trees and shrubs offered.
In addition to the Kitsap Conservation District’s
annual tree sale, other conservation districts, extension offices, and
society’s offer native plants at nominal cost.
Sale events are conducted throughout the year with most occurring
in the spring and fall. If you
