Hands on Learning
Youth thrive in this natural environment rich in opportunity for personal
growth and group interaction. Young people actively learn about natural
resources through a "hands on" approach.
A Week-long, Fun-filled Adventure!
One week of fun and adventure exploring natural resources in western
Washington at the Cispus Learning Center.
Professional Instruction
Our camp instructors are career professionals in natural resource
fields. Wildlife and fisheries biologists, resource managers, soil
scientists and foresters volunteer to teach during camp. These
professionals have a keen interest in natural resources and are willing to
invest their time with young people.
Secluded and Beautiful
The Natural Resources Youth Camp is held at the Cispus Learning Center, 10
miles south of Randle, Washington, in the western Cascade Mountains. The
facility, a former USDA Forest Service Job Corps Center, is used year-round by
schools, agencies and other non-profit organizations. Set in a beautiful,
secluded environment, the 45-acre camp provides a laboratory for field study as
well as a change of pace from daily routine.
The Cispus Learning Center includes heated dormitories, an education
building, recreation fields, gymnasium, dispensary, campfire amphitheater,
challenge course, an extensive trail system and a dining hall where nutritious
family style meals are prepared and served by Cispus staff.
